Leslie HardwickLeslie Hardwick, 68, Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at the Avalon Village in Ligonier.

She was born on April 28, 1947, to George and Ruth Ellen (Greenstreet) Stimmel in Richmond. On March 25, 1991, she married Clayton Hardwick in Ligonier. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1999. Mrs. Hardwick was a longtime area resident after teaching in Richmond, until 1985. She also worked for Tenneco Automotive as a supervisor and had since retired after many years of service. She enjoyed outdoor activities, especially those at the lake.

She is survived by one child: Todd (Lori) Miller, Wawaka; one grandchild: Tristan Miller; a brother: Sam Stimmel, North Webster; two nieces: Tracy Stimmel, Los Angeles, Calif.; Michelle Stimmel, Columbia City; two nephews: Patrick and Samuel Adams, Pierceton. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Clayton.

There will be a funeral service held in Mrs. Hardwick’s honor at noon, Monday, Feb. 8, at Yeager Funeral Home-1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier with Pastor Jill Wright will officiating. Friends and Family may collect for a visitation prior to the service on 11 a.m. to noon Monday. Burial will follow at Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse. There will be a time of visitation from from 2-4 p.m. and from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are to be made to the National Foundation for Cancer Research, Bethesda, Md.
