Joy L. WeimerJoy Weimer, 82, Ligonier, left Avalon Village on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, to be forever with the Lord surrounded by her family.

She was born June 10, 1933, to Chester “Roy” and Erma (Hontz) Stump in Kimmell. On July 9, 1952, Joy married Lennel “Pat” Weimer in Larwell. He preceded her in death in 1998. Joy was a long time employee of the Kidd Co. in Ligonier. Prior to that she was a teacher’s aide for many years in the West Noble school system. She spent her time working on crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles, gardening and was an avid reader of mystery novels. Joy’s favorite pastime was to be with her family. Being a loving mother and a grandmother was something she definitely enjoyed.

Joy will be dearly missed by her children: Greg (Nancy) Weimer, Winona Lake; Pam (Ed) Whipp, Fort Wayne; Allen (Debra) Weimer, Ligonier; Randy (Christy) Weimer, Hinsdale, Ill.; and Joe Weimer, Ligonier; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; and her sister: Judy Crider, Churubusco. Joy was welcomed into Everlasting Life by her husband, her parents and her brother: Jack Stump.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m Saturday, Jan. 30, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, officiated by Pastor John Lersch. Burial will take place in Salem Cemetery, Larwell. Family and friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Yeager Funeral Home, and again from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
