Mariann (Miller) Schwartz, 76, of Ligonier, passed away at 4:26 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at her residence.
She was born on May 27, 1938, to Daniel and Lavina (Lengacher) Miller in New Haven. On Sept. 20, 1956, she married John Schwartz. He survives. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by her husband; seven children: Lavina (David Kent) Pearson, Palmetto, Fla.; Katherine (David) Miller, Rachel (Harvey) Yoder both of Ligonier; Noah Schwartz, at home; Stephen Schwartz, Elkhart; Jacob (Lorene Yoder) Schwartz, Ligonier; Emanuel Schwartz, Elkhart; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; eight siblings: Margaret (Albert) Schwartz, LaGrange; Rosa (Levi) Christner, Veevay; Fannie (Amos) Christner, Delhi, Iowa; Samuel Miller, Graybill; James (Mary Jo Yoder) Miller, Hicksville, Ohio; Daniel (Emma Eicher) Miller, Quincy Mich.; sister-in-law: Shirley Miller, New Haven; and brother-in-law: David Wickey, Graybill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters; two brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, and continuing all day Wednesday, Jan. 21, at her residence located at 10320 North CR 600W, Ligonier. A funeral service at the Merle Miller residence located at 10318 North CR 600W, Ligonier, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, with Bishop Amos Bontrager and the home ministers officiating. Pallbearers will be Crist Miller, Steven Miller, Kenneth Yoder, Lamar Yoder, Darral Schwartz, and Lyle Schwartz. Burial will take place at Hawpatch Cemetery in Topeka. Yeager Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
