Enrique “Henry” Sanchez, 74, Ligonier, passed away Saturday morning, July 16, 2016 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born July 15, 1942 the son of Bernardo and Juanita (Soto) Sanchez in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
Enrique was a man of many talents. He really enjoyed fishing, backyard barbecues, walking, and talking to everyone in the community. He was able to be a part of many things due to his amazing sense of humor and quick wit. Above all this, Enrique loved spending time with his wife and entire family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Ana Maria Sanchez of Ligonier; two sons: Henry (Melissa) Sanchez Jr. of Ligonier; Daniel (Deb) Sanchez of New Paris; two daughters: Martha Hedges of Ligonier; Mary Kyle of Ligonier; ten granddaughters; one grandson; six great granddaughters; and five great grandsons. He also is survived by four brothers and three sisters, all of San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Juanita Sanchez; his son, David Sanchez; and brother, Reynaldo Sanchez.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Father Wilson Corzo will officiate.
Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 2–4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 for a formal visitation. At 7 p.m. a rosary will be held.
Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier following the service.
