Rebecca Ann Lewis
Rebecca Ann Lewis, 43, Ligonier, passed away at her home Tuesday evening, Feb. 23, 2016, surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 9, 1972, the daughter of Ralph and Nancy (Poindexter) Lewis, Richmond.
You could always find Rebecca with her nose in a romance novel or a sci-fi book. Reading was her favorite pastime. The cartoon character also known as Garfield was something that Rebecca collected.
A story to remember her by, with growing up with many siblings, is that if she couldn’t be on the wagon, she made sure to drive the tractor. Family time was something that was always on her to-do list. Being a great aunt showed through to her never ending love for her nieces and nephews.
She will be terribly missed by her mother, Nancy Lewis Ligonier; siblings: Randle (Michelle) Lewis, Modoc, Robert (Christina) Lewis, Kendallville and Richard Lewis, Ligonier. Additionally her aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews will miss her.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her grandparents, three uncles and beloved father, Ralph.
Family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of Rebecca’s life from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, and from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Culberson’s Funeral Home, Hagerstown. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at Culberson’s Funeral Home with a visitation from noon to 1 p.m. prior. Chaplain Ken Weaver will officiate.
A burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery, Mooreland.
