
Becky Puckett
Rebecca Sue “Becky” Puckett, age 74, of Columbia City, passed away peacefully at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024. She was born on March 25, 1950, the daughter of Herbert and Pauline (Kennedy) Michel, in Huntington.
Becky is survived by her three children, Mike Puckett, of Columbia City, Brian (Erika) Puckett, of Auburn, and Trisha (Steve) Reid, of Albion; 11 grandchildren, Dallas Puckett, Kayla (Chad) Honaker, Schyler Puckett, Kody Rothgeb, Brodie (Kati) Miller, Peyton Miller, Hayley Puckett, Hunter Puckett, Kendall Reid, Case Reid and Rylan Williams; five great-grandchildren, DJ, Ethan, Charlotte, Kinslee and Bexley; two siblings, Joyce Butler, of Columbia City, and Donald Michel, of Muncie; along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Lyle Michel, Bob Michel, Dick Michel and Loren Michel; an infant brother, Raymond Michel; and a mother-in-law, Florence Puckett.
Becky lived in Columbia City her whole life and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School. She later obtained an associate degree from Ivy Tech College. Becky retired from Miller’s Merry Manor after more than 30 years of service and also owned and operated Becky’s Beauty Shop for over 50 years. Becky loved reading a good book. What meant the most to her was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her life, and she loved them more than anything. She never missed a game, 4-H event or a chance to cheer them on.
A funeral service will be held in Becky’s honor at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier. Burial will follow at South Whitley Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Yeager Funeral Home. There will also be an hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday.
