Donald Earl Poyser, 79, Cromwell, passed away on Saturday, May 2. He was born in Cromwell on June 15, 1935, to George and Ethel (Hursey) Poyser. Donald married Lois Harsh on Oct. 8, 1954, at the Cromwell Methodist Church.
Donald was a beloved and devoted pastor. He served Wolf Lake, Kimmel, Burket, Pierceton, and Pleasant Grove United Methodist Churches. Donald retired from his pastoral duty after 38 years of service. Donald served our country honorably with the National Guard. He attended Cromwell High School and Goshen College.
He is survived by his wife, three children: Peggi (Jerry) Benson; Randy Poyser; Diane Poyser; three granddaughters: Brandy (Jamie) Owens; Wendy Meredith; and Kelly (Drew) Krause. Also three great grandchildren and two brothers; Art Poyser; and Jess Poyser; survive.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Marvin Poyser.
There will be a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at Yeager Funeral Home, located at 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Pastor John Lutton officiating. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a church of choice or the Gideons.
