Sue “Susie” Ellen Steller
Sue “Susie” Ellen (Elliott) Steller, 75, Cromwell, died at 11:08 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at Goshen Hospital, Goshen. She was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Elkhart, the daughter of Arthur and Lois (Hartman) Elliott. On May 17, 2003, she married Mike Steller at The Rock Church, Syracuse.
She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Mike Steller, Cromwell; two sons, Phillip (Dawn) Charters, Anderson and James Charters, Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha “Myrt” Russell, Milford, Lea Ann Kennedy, Schoolcraft, Mich. and Tina Marie Welty, Goshen; along with lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Zoe Charters; and a brother, Roger Elliott.
Susie graduated from Nappanee High School and worked at Laketronics, Cromwell, for many years. Prior to that, she worked at Coppes, Nappanee. Susie really enjoyed sewing and making homemade noodles for her friends and family, and she had a great sense of humor. She was also a great fisherwoman and often out-caught her husband. Susie was always there for others, loved babies and could light up a room with her presence.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier.
Susie will be laid to rest privately at South Locke Cemetery, Nappanee, at a later date.
