Margaret Rose Cox

Margaret Rose Cox, 74, of Cromwell, passed away on Saturday, April 15, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. She was born on Aug. 26, 1942, in Albion, the daughter of Charles and Mable (Hutchins) Campbell. On Nov. 11, 1960, she married Gary L. Cox; he preceded her in death on May 11, 1995.

She is survived by four children: Gary (Karen) Cox, Kimmell; Timm (Deanna) Cox, Lady Lake, Fla.; Tina (Alan “Joe”) Shultz, Albion; and Shawn (Sherry) Cox, Ligonier; twelve grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Jeana Pontzius; her parents; a twin sister: Martha Streby; two brothers: Charles Campbell; and Richard Campbell; and a sister: Betty Hammond.

Margaret retired from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department in 2011 after over 10 years of faithful service. She was a devoted mother and homemaker who enjoyed various activities from knitting and woodworking to repairing motorcycle engines and blade sharpening.

A memorial service will be held in Margaret’s honor at 7p.m., Thursday, April 20, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier. Pastor Randy Penwell will officiate.

Family and friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in Margaret’s honor may be directed to Ligonier or Sparta Township Fire Departments.
