Glenn Borders Jr.

Glenn Borders Jr., 91, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier.

He was born Sept. 27, 1925, the son of Glenn and Myrtel (Cole) Borders in Clayton, Mich.

Glenn served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1942-1946.  A World War II Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Wisconsin Ship, signified that Glenn truly was proud to be a part of the Military. He owned his own business, Borders Construction, for over 60 years.  He specialized in Masonry Construction. His family and friends will remember his sweet tooth, love for a great cheeseburger and any and or all animals.

He is survived by his son, Glenn “Alan” Borders III along with his significant other Robin Lemon and daughter Diane (Ron) Case; grandchildren, Mark (Ashley) Borders, Josh (Eva) Borders, Andrew (Abbey) Borders, Linda Barnett, Lisa Piercell, Cassandra Case, Andrea Kimmear; great-grandchildren, Newman “Bubby” Borders, Jaida Borders, Aahliyah Borders, September Borders, Jordan Borders and Korbin Borders; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Glenn and Myrtel Borders, daughter; Linda Borders along with his three sisters, Ruby, Bonnie and Helen.

Family and Friends may gather from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 at Yeager Funeral Home; 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767.

A private family burial will take place Monday, Jan. 9 in Michigan.
