David “Wayne” Teel, 54, Cromwell, passed away in an auto accident on Nov. 28, 2016 in Elkhart County.
He was born May 17, 1962 in Charleston, W. Va. to David L. and Janet (Copen) Teel.
Wayne is survived by his fiancée, Carrie Thompson, South Bend; two sons: Justin (Tiffany) Teel, Warsaw; and Gary (Ashley) Teel; three step-children: Brittnee Thompson and John Thompson, South Bend; and Kristianna Pieper, Texas; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Janet Teel, Cromwell; two sisters: Cindy Dooley, Fort Wayne; and Christina (Kevin) Davidsen, Cromwell; one niece and three nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, David, in 2001 and his grandparents.
He graduated from West Noble High School in 1980. He graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in Criminal Justice. He was employed with Lippert Components in Goshen. He loved camping in Jellystone National Park; he enjoyed NASCAR and football, as well as riding his Harley. He was a former member of the Sparta Township Volunteer Firefighters. He rode with the Patriot Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
A Memorial Service in his honor will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Celebrant Larry Baker will officiate. There will be a time of visitation from 2-5 Friday at the funeral home.
