jean-ottJean Ott, 93, Ligonier, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born on Dec. 23, 1922, in Noble County to Homer and Nellie (Frick) Boyd.

Jean graduated from Wawaka High School and attended South Bend College of Commerce. She was a bookkeeper and a homemaker. On July 6, 1945, she married Fred Ott. He preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2009. They lived in Ligonier and Westler Lake together.

Jean was a member of Ligonier United Methodist Church and its Good Samaritans group. She enjoyed sewing, reading, flowers, traveling and her family and friends.

She is survived by one son: Steven (Diane) Ott, Vermillion, Ohio; one grandson: Shad Ott, Warsaw; four granddaughters: Ericka Shull, Ligonier; Tori Perry, Warsaw; Danyel (Danny) Tutskey, Berea, Ohio; Alysia (Nick) Bullock, Carol Stream, Ill.; nine great-grandchildren: Brenna; Cortlynn; Amelia; and Miles Shull; Kaylee; and Rylan Perry; Braydon; and Kaitlyn Ott; Chloe; Lyla; and Nora Bullock; and Mia Tutskey; two stepgrandchildren: Gene Harmych; and Beth (Chris) Kovach; three great-stepgrandchildren: Kaylee Harmych; Tyler; and Emma Kovach; sister-in-law: Lillian Northrup; several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew: Leon Eberly, Detroit, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; her son: Wayne; her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and two nephews.

There will be a funeral service held in Jean’s honor at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, with Pastor Byron Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.

There will be a time of visitation from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at Yeager Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are to Goshen Center for Cancer Care.
