Kathryn R. Earnhart, 90, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 18, 2016, at Avalon Village, Ligonier. She was born to the late Frank J. and Poneta A. (Schoeff) Folk on Jan. 31, 1926, in Huntington. On June 3, 1944, she married Owen Clair Earnhart in Noble County.
For many years she worked for the Syracuse Elementary School. Gardening and bird watching were a few other things that kept Kathryn occupied. Being a member of the Washington Township juniors home-econmics club allowed Kathryn to gather a lot of knowledge and create many memories. An avid IU fan, she always had their calendars to reference and could strike up any conversation regarding when their next game was going to be held.
She is survived by her son: N. (Suzanne) Fay, Kimmell; grandson: Tony A. (Annette) Earnhart, Kimmell; granddaughters: Ann Earnhart-Tenney, Columbia City; and Deborah Mehl, Albion; grandson; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; brother: James (Joan) Folk, Warsaw; sister: Margaret Conner, Cromwell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathryn is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Owen Clair Earnhart; parents: Frank and Poneta Folk; sons: David A. Earnhart; and Larry J Earnhart; and his wife: Pamela Earnhart.
Family and friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell. Pastor John Lutton will officiate.
